In the Zone Podcast
At its core, In the Zone Podcast was born out of my love for long-form conversations and a deep curiosity about what drives people. Inspired by shows like The Joe Rogan Experience, I wanted to create a space where I could sit down with people—friends, clients, and inspiring individuals—and dive into their passions. What gets them in the zone? What makes them come alive? Those were the questions I wanted to explore.
From a martial arts instructor I hadn’t spoken to in thirty years to a filmmaker, a nonprofit founder, and even some of my clients, I sought out individuals who were truly passionate about what they do. I wanted to uncover the spark that fuels their work and share it with others. For me, these conversations were not just about talking—they were about active listening, asking the right questions, and discovering things that might never surface in a regular conversation.
The technical process of creating the podcast was also a learning journey. I delved into branding, created social media channels, and experimented with how to repurpose long-form content into shorts and reels to drive engagement. This approach taught me about leveraging content across platforms and how different formats can attract different audiences, all while staying true to the core message.
On a personal level, this project has been about reconnection. It gave me a reason to reach out to people from my past, sit down with them, and really catch up. Even if some episodes didn’t make it online, the experience of sitting across from someone, having an uninterrupted conversation, was fulfilling in itself.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned? Curiosity is a superpower. If you approach every conversation with genuine interest, you’ll always find something new to explore. In life and in work, this mindset fuels my ability to connect deeply with clients, uncover the heart of their challenges, and craft solutions that resonate on a human level.
Whether it’s creating a podcast, designing a brand, or solving marketing challenges, the principles remain the same: listen, ask better questions, and let curiosity guide the way.
